At the school's football field-This is a run for fun hence the name fun run I suppose. Anyway, this will offer a great opportunity for exercise and a first bonding opportunity for the class as a whole. This is also a chance for those of a competitive nature to see who has become better, or worse, over the years. This is an optional event and thus no one is required to participate yet everyone is encouraged to do so in order to maximize the fun.
11 o'clock the first day- There will be a complete tour of the new school allowing everyone to see the advancements in Polk County High education. Such highlights as the new computer lab and the technology centers will be showcased. The new automotive department will be explored as will the home economics area. A tour of the gymnasium and cafeteria will then be forthcoming. Finally, there will be a look at the library, science rooms, and individual academical rooms of the school.
Lunch for the first day at noon. There will be a picnic on the school grounds directly after the tour. There will be sandwiches, chips, drinks, and various other refreshments. It will be a great social experience for everyone as well as a chance for everyone to relax after the events of the fun run and tour. Everyone is encouraged to bring homemade backed goods for the picnic if they wish.
During the first day at 5 o'clock-Chattanooga Lookouts. There will be a trip to Chattanooga to watch a Chattanooga Lookouts baseball game. There will be transportation provided to the game. The tickets will be purchased in a group thus everyone will be together for the game. Participants are discouraged from eating too much at the game for there will be a diner at TGI Friday's following the game. Everyone is encouraged to attend this social experience; however, do keep in mind that only those that purchase the deluxe package will be provided for to attend.
Second Day
10:00 after breakfast-There will be a bingo and shuffle board contest. The Cleveland Recreation Center will be rented out to the house the event. This is a great time for those that enjoy a quieter and more relaxed competition to join in the festivities.
During Lunch on the second day at 12:00. This will be a catered event. A great competitive event for those of the similar nature. Three courses will be served during the contest. Those not participating may watch and eat a normal lunch. Participants may forfeit at anytime during the contest. A prize will be presented to the winner.
Starts at 8 o'clock and ends at 11 o'clock- A concert featuring a live band that will play smash hits from the 60's and subsequent decades.
Also, there will be couples and singles dancing events. Refreshments in the way of finger foods and punch will be served. The area will be decorated appropriately with decor from the graduation year of 1960 and with Polk County High alumina materials. The concert will take place in the high school cafeterioum. There will be several subsequent events housed in the dance itself.
Last Day-10:30-There will be a fireworks show near the end of the dance. The fireworks will be shot off in the outside area directly opposite football field and will be viewable from the sidelines and bleachers. There will be several fireworks with many motley colors. It will be a great way to wrap up the entire reunion. The entire show should last approximately 30 minutes.
